Privacy Policy

This policy explains how Acadeosity collects, uses, shares and protects personal data, and the rights you have over it. We collect only what we need and we never sell personal data.

Effective: 8 October 2026  ·  Last updated: 8 October 2026

01Who is responsible for your data

Acadeosity Global Learning Private Limited, 806, A-5, Alt.F Grovy Optiva, Sector 68, Noida, Gautam Buddha Nagar, 201316, Uttar Pradesh, India, is responsible for personal data processed through www.acadeosity.com and Acadeosity Services. Under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023, we act as the "Data Fiduciary". If a Service such as Unilearno publishes its own privacy policy, that policy also applies to that Service.

02Scope of this policy

This policy covers personal data about website visitors, learners, parents and guardians, mentors and Academic Experts, partners, and people who contact us. It does not cover third-party websites or services that we link to, which have their own privacy policies.

03Information we collect

Information you give us

  • Contact and enquiry details, such as your name, email address, phone number, organisation and message, when you use our contact or partnership forms.
  • Account and profile details, such as your name, age range, level of study, interests and goals.
  • Learning information you choose to share, such as questions, drafts and session notes.
  • For learners under 18, details of a parent or guardian.
  • For mentors and Academic Experts, professional details such as qualifications, experience and payment details for payouts.

Information collected automatically

  • Technical information, such as IP address, device and browser type, pages visited and the date and time of visits.
  • Information from cookies and similar technologies, as described in our Cookies Policy.

Payment information

Payments are processed by third-party payment providers. We receive confirmation of payment and limited details such as the last four digits of a card. We do not store full card numbers.

04Information from other sources

We may receive personal data from:

  • a parent or guardian who registers a learner;
  • a school, university or partner organisation that arranges access to the Services;
  • payment providers, confirming a payment or refund; and
  • public professional profiles, when we check a mentor's qualifications and experience with their permission.

05Information we try not to collect

We do not ask for sensitive information such as health details, religious beliefs, caste or financial account numbers unless it is genuinely needed, for example to make a learning adjustment that a learner or parent asks for. Please do not share sensitive information in sessions or messages unless it is needed.

06How we use your information

We use personal data to:

  • respond to enquiries and provide the Services you request;
  • match learners with suitable mentors or Academic Experts;
  • process payments, refunds and invoices;
  • keep the Services safe, prevent fraud and uphold our Acceptable Use Policy and Terms of Use;
  • improve the website and Services, using aggregated information where possible;
  • send service messages and, with your consent, updates about Acadeosity; and
  • meet our legal and regulatory obligations.

07Marketing and your choices

We send marketing updates only where you have agreed or where the law allows. Every marketing email includes an unsubscribe link, and you can also opt out by emailing [email protected]. We never send marketing to learners under 18. Service messages, such as booking confirmations, are not marketing and will still be sent.

08Technology, AI and automated decisions

We may use technology, including AI tools, to help run and improve the Services, for example to suggest relevant learning resources or to help route enquiries. We do not make decisions that have legal or similarly significant effects on you based solely on automated processing. We do not use learners' personal work to train public AI models.

09Session recordings

Sessions are not recorded by default. If a recording is needed, for example for quality assurance, safeguarding or because a learner asks for one, we will tell participants in advance and keep the recording securely for no longer than 90 days, unless a longer period is required to investigate a complaint or safeguarding concern.

10Our lawful basis

We process personal data with your consent, which you can withdraw at any time, or where the law otherwise allows, for example to provide a Service you have asked for, to comply with law or to respond to a legal request. Withdrawing consent does not affect processing that took place before you withdrew it.

11Children's data

Some Acadeosity Services, including Life School, are designed for learners under 18. We process a child's personal data only with verifiable consent from a parent or legal guardian. We do not track children's behaviour for advertising, show them targeted advertising or process their data in ways likely to harm their well-being. Parents and guardians can contact us at any time about their child's data.

12Who we share data with

We share personal data only where needed:

  • with mentors or Academic Experts, limited to what they need to support you;
  • with service providers who help us operate, such as hosting, email, payment processing and analytics, under contracts that require them to protect your data;
  • with professional advisers, such as lawyers and auditors;
  • with authorities where required by law; and
  • with a successor business if Acadeosity is reorganised or acquired, subject to this policy.

We do not sell personal data.

13Mentors and Academic Experts

Mentors receive only the information they need to support a learner, such as the learner's first name, level of study, subject and the questions or work the learner chooses to share. Mentors must follow our Mentor Privacy & Confidentiality Agreement.

14International transfers

Some of our service providers, mentors or users may be located outside India. Where personal data is transferred internationally, we take steps to protect it and comply with applicable law on cross-border transfers.

15How long we keep data

We keep personal data only for as long as needed for the purposes described in this policy, including legal, tax and accounting requirements. Enquiry data is generally kept for up to 24 months after our last contact with you unless you become a user. When data is no longer needed we delete or anonymise it.

16Typical retention periods

  • Website enquiries: up to 24 months after our last contact.
  • Account and profile data: while your account is active, and up to 24 months after it is closed.
  • Session notes and shared work: while your account is active, unless you ask us to delete them sooner.
  • Session recordings (if any): up to 90 days.
  • Payment and invoice records: as required by tax and accounting laws, usually 8 years.
  • Mentor records: for the duration of the engagement and up to 8 years after, for legal and tax purposes.

17How we protect data

We use reasonable technical and organisational safeguards, including encrypted connections, access controls and limited access on a need-to-know basis. No system is completely secure; if a personal data breach affects you, we will notify you and the relevant authorities as required by law.

19Your rights

Subject to applicable law, you can:

  • ask for a summary of the personal data we hold about you and how we use it;
  • ask us to correct, complete or update it;
  • ask us to erase it where it is no longer needed;
  • withdraw consent;
  • nominate another person to exercise your rights in the event of your death or incapacity; and
  • raise a grievance with us, and if you are not satisfied, with the Data Protection Board of India.

If you live outside India, you may have additional rights under local law. To exercise any right, email [email protected]. We may need to verify your identity first.

20If you live outside India

  • United Kingdom and European Economic Area: you may have rights to access, rectify, erase, restrict, object to processing and data portability, and to complain to your data protection authority, such as the UK Information Commissioner's Office.
  • Australia: you may access and correct your information under the Privacy Act 1988 and complain to the Office of the Australian Information Commissioner.
  • Canada: you may access and correct your information and complain to the Office of the Privacy Commissioner of Canada.

We will respond to requests within the time required by applicable law, and normally within 30 days.

21Cookies

We use cookies and similar technologies as described in our Cookies Policy.

22Changes to this policy

We may update this policy. The "Last updated" date shows the latest version, and we will tell you about significant changes.
